A station with a capacity of 125 km from Minya

The El Kureimat Power Plant is a 1,254 MW gas-fired power plant located in Minya, Egypt. It is the largest power plant in Upper Egypt and is operated by the Upper Egypt Electricity Production Company (UEEPC). The plant consists of four 313 MW combined cycle units that utilize Siemens SGT5-8000 gas turbines and Alstom GT26B steam turbines. The plant was commissioned in two stages, with the first two units coming online in 2008 and the second two units coming online in 2010.
